Wind farm to experiment with energy storage

Southwest Minnesota has been at the forefront of wind energy since turbines began sprouting on Buffalo Ridge in the late 1990s. It remains there as Xcel Energy and several partners plan the first U.S. test of battery storage technology, beginning this year at the 11-megawatt Minwind Energy wind farm near Luverne.
