Alliant utility sets efforts to win power plant approval

Madison utility Wisconsin Power and Light Co. said Thursday that it plans to retire its coal-fired power plant -- the utility's oldest plant -- and boost wind power generation as part of its efforts to win approval for expansion of a coal-fired plant in Cassville.
